Women are always deemed to be of the weaker sex. It is inevitable for people to think that women need to depend on men just because they are physically weaker than the opposite sex.
It’s easy to think of women as fragile human beings whose only responsibility lies in household and family matters such as taking care of the children and housekeeping whereas men are always the ones who are out and about from dusk till dawn, making a living, working hard.
But if you think about it, really carefully, you’d realise that women are just as strong in their own unique way. Some even made sacrifices and worked twice as hard as men in order to ensure that their family is well taken care of. They just have that innate and nurturing motherly instinct when it comes to taking care of their family.
Especially when their children are brought into the equation. No matter what happens or what obstacles they’ll need to face, they won’t stop caring for their child. They can and will sacrifice anything and everything. When nobody else is there (for example if their husband, the father of their children falls ill), they are ready to step up to the plate and get things done. They will fill the heavy shoes of their husband and provide for their family.
‘The Hand that Rocks the Cradle is the Hand that Rules the World’.
Puan Mariati Masri otherwise known as Puan May, is a 43-year-old mother and wife who is the sole breadwinner of her family. Her husband suffered from stroke and since then is unable to provide for his family. Puan May is working hard to take care of her family by opening up a beauty spa and has been in the beauty industry for 18 years.
When the beauty industry and her beauty spa exhausted her (and since she couldn’t find anyone to inherit her beauty business from her), Puan May made the surprising decision to open up a printing business instead. She wants to learn and try something new that can be passed-down to her children. According to her, doing what we love will be beneficial to the business.
“When I’m tired of working, I want to handover my business to my children. Let them be the ones to manage my business that was established for their sake,” Puan May stated.
Puan May said that her desire to enter the printing venture was because she wants to spend more time with her family and with this stay-at-home printing business, that would be possible.
For a period of three days, Puan May attended the DIY PRINTpreneur Academy School (DPAS) where she was extremely satisfied and happy with the printing knowledge given by the certified trainers in the academy. DPAS has also opened up the doors for her so that she can successfully open up a printing business on her own.
Puan May stated that it’s not too late for someone of her age to learn something new and she herself has never stopped learning because there is yet so much more for her to learn. She wants to prove to herself that she can do anything if she puts her mind into it.
DPAS helps PRINTpreneurs to succeed in the printing industry by showing them the ropes and giving them the know-hows in terms of graphic design, marketing as well as printing machine operation.
“I feel proud to be one of DIY Printing Supply’s customers as they always provide support, assistance, and guidance to their customers.” Hopefully these words said by Puan May will encourage all you young entrepreneurs out there to have the confidence to choose our service in your journey to becoming printing entrepreneurs.
We’d like to congratulate Puan Mariati Masri for her perseverance and we hope she will continue to be successful as she becomes a printing entrepreneur as well as a source of inspiration to all.
