WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN PIGMENT & SUBLIMATION INKS?

All inkjet printer inks used in the home and most businesses use a similar formulation.

The basic make-up of ink jet inks is de-ionized water as the solvent, isopropyl alcohol or glycol as the drying agent, and dye base to provide the color.

There are two main inks use for printing which are Pigment Ink & Sublimation Ink.

  • Pigment Inks: mostly for printing on transfer paper and transfer printing. It is washable as the ink is waterproof.
  • Sublimation Inks: mostly for printing on sublimation paper and sublimation printing on coated surface and polyester materials.
